Apostolic Intervention was previously known as The LIttle People. They had a act which was broadly similar to the Small Faces and Jerry Shirley claimed to be a massive Small Faces fan. After a chance meeting in a music shop Steve Marriott agreed to produce the band's version of a Marriott/Lane track (Tell Me) Have You Ever Seen Me. Steve Marriott also produced the b-side Madame Garcia. He also played the bass on the A-side. The b-side was written by Dines and Angus Shirley. The band signed to Immediate Records. Apparently, Marriott suggested the band change their name to the Nice but Andrew Loog Oldham had that name lined up for another band.

The single was not promoted much and failed to chart. Although the band was gigging, this became less frequent and the band broke up in 1967. Jerry Shirley joined a band called Wages of Sin before later joining Marriott in Humble Pie. Peter "Dino" Dines (real name Peter Leslie) joined the Keef Hartley Band, followed by T-Rex in 1974. After the death of Marc Bolan he joined the tribute band T.Rextasy. Dines died in 2004 following a heart attack.
