Nick Simper - bass, Jon Lord - keyboards, Carlo Little - drums

The Flowerpot Men were a manufactured band that were put together by the songwriters John Carter and Ken Lewis. Simper and a group of musicians played the cabaret circuit to play the hit single Let's Go To San Francisco alongside cover versions. While this was lucrative it was very limiting. When the band folded, Lord went into session work including playing keyboards on The Kinks' You Really Got Me. He then met former Searchers drummer Chris Curtis
