Chris Ferguson - drums, Barry Curtis - keyboards, Tubs Turner - bass, Jimmy Shipstone - guitar / vocals, Nigel Street - saxophone
The Nite People were formed in Bournemouth in 1965. After a while Turner and Street left the band to be replaced by Francis Shipstone, Jimmy's brother on bass and Pat Bell on saxophone. The band signed to Fontana Records and released four singles. A further four singles were released on Page One Records as well as an album.
In 1970, the band released a single as The Banana Bunch. This was a cover of the Banana Splits theme tune, Tra-La-La. The b-side was Season of the Rain which was written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
After the band broke up, Ferguson toured with Kiki Dee and Kenny Lynch.
