Cavern Club, Leicester Square Not THE Cavern Club, that one was in Liverpool. However, London had its own Cavern Club at 5 Leicester Place, off Leicester Square, deep in the heart of the West End which was known as Cavern in the Town. This was underneath a church. The band first played there on 5 June 1965 as their first gig billed as The Small Faces. the group had a regular Saturday evening residency at the club. Don Arden was in the audience at this first gig and approached them afterwards with an offer of management. The venue later changed its name to The Latin Quarter and is now known as the Notre Dame Hall.
